Dear Family and Friends of Olmsted Camp;
OLMSTED CAMP is in TROUBLE
National Fuel is threatening Eminent Domain in efforts to condemn and seize our Olmsted family land along the Cattaraugus Creek, listed in the National Register of Historic Places as Olmsted Camp (1910) and Rider-Hopkins Farm (1840). The Fossil Fuel Company plans to trench through our creek and 191 others for construction of their proposed 97-mile ‘Northern Access Pipeline’ (NAPL). This pipeline, if approved, would transport highly pressurized fracked gas from Pennsylvania to Canada for foreign export.
The Olmsted family and several other landowners, spread out among the WNY counties of Erie, Cattaraugus and Allegany, have refused to sign over our land. National Fuel took us to court.
Now legal fees are mounting and we are asking family and friends if they can help support our cause and keep our land out of National Fuel’s hands.
